In this video I will show you how to use a cassette to MP3 converter. These devices are very easy to find online. There are numerous online vendors selling these for an affordable price. If you have a bunch of old cassettes that you would like to digitize, then this is the device you need. And I can assure you these are not that difficult to use. In this video I go over all the steps you need to know to use this machine. Once you have it properly connected to your laptop, and you have a recording software like Audacity, you are good to go. I did an overview of this device a few months ago. I will post a link to that video at the end of this one. That video was just a general overview of this cassette to MP3 converter. This video is more a specific "how ro" guide on how to actually use it. Now, I have mentioned several times that this device is not very high end. If you are looking for top notch, state of the art technology, look elsewhere. This is just a very simple, very cheap way to digitize your old tapes. If you want optimal sound quality. you should probably look into buying something more high end. This unit is not all that sophisticated, and as such your expectations should not be too high. But if you are simply looking for a quick and easy way to digitize your old cassettes, this will do the job just fine. As I explain in the video, this is basically just a cassette walkman with a USB connection. You can power it through the USB connection, or you can also power it with two AA batteries. In that way, you could even use this as a regular old school cassette walkman! As I mentioned, you can find this device for sale at many places on the internet. They are also very affordable. I paid less than $50 for mine, shipping included. If I have a valuable recording on a cassette that means a lot to me, I would probably use a method that is a bit more high quality to digitize that tape, such as connecting my tape deck to my Sony ICD UX 570.
